Last week I spent five days in my family’s home town of Norfork, Arkansas with Tyson. We got to fish and eat some of my grandma’s Southern farm-to-table home cooking. I’m still dreaming about our deer steak with gravy and fried rainbow trout and hushpuppies. Although the food was amazing, one of the highlights for me was getting to photograph my cousin Rebecca’s senior pictures. I got to shoot her older brother’s senior pictures in 2012 and this was such an awesome opportunity to do her’s two years later. We got to make it personal for Rebecca, since we shot at her home, around the barn, hay fields, and in the creek. It was so fun getting to just hang out with her for an hour and a half.
It wasn’t till after the session that it occurred to me how much she’s grown up. I remember the day she was born, moments in church when she was a child and would do laps around the chairs, and watching her catch perch in Norfork Lake. Now it’s such a wonderful thing seeing her turn into this beautiful woman. Time goes by way too fast.
