Our bride, Katherine, and her groom, Nick, grew up in the resort community of Vail, Colorado. Together for over a decade, the high school sweethearts tied the knot in their hometown in September 2023. They’ve now made their home in Conneticut with their sweet dog, Oliver. Though they no longer reside in the area, their parents and families do. For their wedding, they chose to host an outdoor, all-afternoon affair at the 10th on Vail Mountain.
The Outfits and Festivities
As a touching tribute to her mother, Katherine wore a beautiful reinvention of her mom’s original wedding gown during the private rehearsal dinner. There, an intimate group dined alongside a dazzling bridal portrait of her mom in the dress.
For the ceremony, the bride wore an ethereal, backless gown embellished with sparkling flower applique on the bodice and a flowing skirt. She wore simple pearl studs and her long blonde hair fell in curls down her back. The groom looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo.
The couple enrolled their families in a spice-blending ceremony, a delicious way to symbolize the mixing of a recipe for a happy life.
The ceremony featured hand-painted pillar candles, along with pressed columbine flowers from the bride’s family’s garden. The lavender tossed during the recessional also came directly from the local family property.
The happy couple gazed at each other with love and danced the night away with their friends.
