The 10th at Vail is the ideal place to get married for any skier. Especially a skier that grew up skiing with her family on the run that the 10th is on. Especially in the summer. The weather is warm and comfortable; can you say zero humidity? Love when you don’t have to sweat or worry about your hair and make up melting off. Just me? Didn’t think so! Sydney and Jake met at Colorado University in Boulder playing a game of beer pong at Jake’s fraternity house. That’s how all college romances start, right? Their love is special. I know it when I see two families come together like theirs. They fit like a glove and it was truly an honor to be apart of their day in Vail, Colorado. We started at the Manor House Vail where Sydney has been coming since she was a little girl. Her grandparents bought a condo in the 70s and it’s been a family getaway ever since. The guys got ready at the beautiful Tivoli Lodge where everyone had a quick walk to Gondola One for the scenic ride up the mountain.
One thing that didn’t go as planned was the wildfire smoke. When you come to Vail in the summer, you hope for endless mountain views. The smoke from out of state wildfires in August prevented all visibility of the gorgeous Gore Range backdrop at the 10th at Vail where their weding took place. You know what though, I never once heard a complaint from the couple, family, or guests. Not one complaint from the 150+ guests. Though the mountains was the destination, these people understood why they were truly here; to celebrate with Sydney and Jake on their favorite ski run. Forgot about the views, this couple and their radient love is all anyone needs to smile as wide as the mountains.
